As avid motorcycle riders, the safety of all riders is always our primary concern. We ride safely, and have fun!
Before joining a group ride, make sure you're familiar with these hand signals!
When riding in a staggered formation, maintain a 2 second interval between you and the bike in front of you, 1 second interval behind the bike to your side .
Maintaining proper tire pressure is key to tire longevity and safe riding.
Proper oil levels and regular changes are critical to getting the most from your bike's engine.
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation created the T-CLOCK mnemonic as a memory aid for a pre-ride safety check of a typical motorcycle. Each letter represents a particular inspection category:
Road Guardians is a program created by ASM that encourages all motorcyclists to become lifelong learners and to do all they can to avoid a crash from occurring. We go one step further than other safety programs by connecting motorcycle trauma first response as part of the solution.
Accident Scene Management (ASM) has trained nearly 40,000 students through the expertise of over 100 instructors in 31 states across the USA. They are the largest Motorcycle Trauma Training organization in the world, with instructors in South Africa, Australia, the Philippines & the USA.
The key to reducing injuries and fatalities to motorcyclists is education. After a crash occurs there is a gap in time of 5-30 minutes before an ambulance arrives. Be prepared to help another biker in need during this critical gap.
Road Guardians membership costs $20/year and is used to support their mission to reduce injuries and fatalities to motorcyclists. There are no mandatory meetings or events, though events are provided from time to time. Dues are used exclusively to provide safety information and training.
